Virtual reality and losing weight in real life

Posted: Updated:

Virtual reality may lead to real-life weight loss.

A Temple University study had overweight women create a computer model that looked just like them.  The women watched videos of their models walking on a treadmill or selecting the right portion sizes of food.

After four weeks, those women lost 3.5 pounds.

Researchers believe if a person can visualize doing healthy activities and making healthy choices, they can learn and practice those behaviors.
