Marion restaurant owner arrested in NY, faces child sex charges in VA

MARION, VA (WJHL) -

A man accused of child sex crimes is being extradited back to Southwest Virginia.

A spokesperson for the Marion Police Department told News Channel 11, that two officers left Sunday to go to New York City to pick up Ching Hong Cheng.

Cheng was arrested in Manhattan on felony warrants.

Cheng, the owner of The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Marion, is charged with the crime of "animate object sexual penetration" and "taking liberties with a child" in Marion.

Authorities say Cheng will be brought before a Smyth County magistrate late Tuesday, and then transported to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon.
