Are we snobby in North Carolina?

Apparently not.

Travel and Leisure magazine recently ranked the snobbiest cities in the United States, and the list of 20 cities had some expected heavyweights in the snob category.

San Francisco ranked No. 1 and New York City No. 2. And Boston, with its Back Bay elite, came in at No. 3.

But in the Carolinas, only Charleston, S.C., made the list, with the South Carolina seaport ranked No. 10.

But North Carolina didn't scratch. Cary, Chapel Hill and even Charlotte apparently weren't snooty enough to impress Travel and Leisure.

Oh well. North Carolina and its cities continue to make plenty of lists, like best places to live, best places to work, best places to retire and best places to do business.

And all that's something to be snooty about.
