Charlotte protests to "Restore the 4th"

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -

A turn of the meaning of the Fourth of July draws protestors across the nation.

In Charlotte, demonstrators staged rallies dubbed "Restore the 4th."

They are not protesting against Independence Day but rather they want to keep independence given by the 4th amendment.

The amendment is about protecting against unreasonable search and seizure.

Protestors didn't like the government's surveillance spying programs recently revealed by the NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden.
