Argument leads to shooting death, police arrest suspect

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -

Police say a man is dead and another arrested after the two got into an argument around 9:48 p.m. Saturday.

23-Year-old Tyree Louis Simmons of Goldsboro was found shot to death at a home at 101 Georgia Avenue.

Investigators say Simmons got into an argument with 41-year-old Stevie Denardo Simmons of Goldsboro while in Stevie's yard at 610 W. Walnut Street.  Police say Stevie shot Tyree who then ran across and down the street to the home on Georgia Avenue where he later died.

Stevie Simmons was arrested and charged with one count of Murder.  Stevie was taken to the Wayne County Jail under no bond pending a first appearance scheduled for July 8th.

Tyree's body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for autopsy.

Police say there is no family relation between the two men.
