GREENVILLE, N.C. -

12 pounds of crystal meth worth more than $500,000 are off the streets thanks to Greenville Police, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Farmville Police.

On June 28th officers arrested four Mexican nationals transporting the crystal meth, commonly called "ice."

Investigators say the drugs were manufactured in Sinaloa, Mexico and smuggled into the United States for sale and distribution.

Investigators think the drugs were first moved into southern California, but they were headed for Virginia.

All of the defendants were charged with conspiracy and trafficking charges. They were placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
