Digital dementia: technology's ties to memory loss

The more we rely on technology, the more likely we'll suffer from short-term memory loss.  At least that's what researchers think is happening to all of us who depend heavily on our smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets.

A new study from South Korea, which some believe to be the most digitally-advanced society on Earth, says some South Korean teens are showing signs of digital dementia, another term for short-term memory loss. 

The study blames overusing smartphones and game devices for hampering the balanced development of the brain.
