Man arrested in fatal Durham hit-and-run

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police charged a Warren County man Tuesday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Hillandale Road Monday night.

Maceo Christopher Kemp Jr., 27, of Manson, turned himself in Tuesday afternoon, Durham police said.

He was charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while license revoked.

Seth Vidal, 36, was biking north on Hillandale Road around 9 p.m. when he was hit, police said. He was later pronounced dead at Duke University Hospital.

According to BusinessInsider.com, Vidal was an engineer at Red Hat.Vidal was also known for creating the software "yum," a tool that helps Linux administrators manage servers.
