ECU Baseball holds Little League Camp

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Between Little League tournaments, the American Legion Playoffs and ECU baseball camp it's a busy week on the diamond. Today it was all about the youngsters at Clark-Leclair Stadium.

Coach Billy Godwin says his off season has been nearly as busy as the regular season. He's been on the road recruiting and now he's back in Greenville for the first of six camps.

The Little League Camp for 7 through 12 year olds began on Monday. ECU players say its fun to feel the campers energy and for them to teach the players the game the "Pirate Way".

Over 60 campers will be on campus through Friday and today they were battling the heat as much as they were the opposition.

ECU alums like Jay Cannon and Bryan Bass joined current Pirates for this week of community outreach. 13 players from this ECU team took part in one of their camps in their youth, making it beneficial for both campers and the Pirate program .

Coach Billy Godwin says as far as this week goes, he just wants everyone to have a good time.
