Free scoliosis screenings Saturday in Greenville

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

"Get a backbone!"  There's a reason the saying is associated with toughening up to handle difficult situations; Dr. Brian Kean says your spine is the most important part of your body, responsible for its critical functions.

Kean's Greenville clinic, Advanced Health and Physical Medicine, is the first in North Carolina to offer a new treatment for scoliosis.  Scoliosis is when the spine forms a C or an S-shaped curve.  It can lead to uneven hips and shoulders and is typically treated with back braces or surgery.

Dr. Kean dropped by Morning Edition to talk about the new, non-invasive treatment called CLEAR scoliosis therapy, which he says can slowly reverse and improve scoliosis.

Kean's clinic is offering free scoliosis screenings Saturday July 13 from 11a.m. until 3p.m.

You must make an appointment to schedule your free screening.  Just call Advanced Health and Physical Medicine at 252-375-3170.

Advanced Health and Physical Medicine is located at 504 Red Banks Rd. Suite C in Greenville.
