McFarlane files for re-election for Raleigh mayor

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane filed for re-election Wednesday morning along with her supporters.

McFarlane posted the announcement on her website and on Facebook, asking supporters to join her as she filed her re-election papers.

Supporters met the mayor at 11 a.m. at the Century Post Office on Fayetteville Street to walk over the to the Wake County Office Building at 337 South Salisbury Street, where McFarlane then officially filed her papers with the Board of Elections.

Later Wednesday evening, supporters are invited to join McFarlane for a special campaign kickoff fundraising dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Ruth E. and Frank Holding, Jr. located at 2331 Churchill Road in Raleigh. Tickets to the event start at $100 and can be purchased here.
