Krispy Kreme tops list of most craveable

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -

Americans crave Krispy Kreme more than any other chain restaurant.

That's the findings from Technomic's Consumer Brand Metrics program which tracks the performance of 115 national restaurants chains.

This particular survey looked at "craveable items," which are things that people say they want and can only get at a certain restaurant.

One person surveyed said, "All the donuts are craveable. Store bakeries or other places cannot come close to the flavors at Krispy Kreme."

Red Lobster and Zaxby's also ranked high on the list.

Survey responders said, "The biscuits are the main reason to go [to Red Lobster]," and "Chicken tender strips that are prepared to perfections and the Zaxby's unique dipping sauce."

The purpose of the study was to show that certain craveable items drive consumer satisfaction and repeat business.

The survey concludes that restaurants should seek to create a few craveable items. These items should contain a variety of elements, but people tend to remember tasty sweets more than other foods.
