Military Bowl to pit new American Conference against ACC

Posted: Updated:

East Carolina could be making a return trip to the Military Bowl in the future.

Today, the new American Athletic Conference (formerly Big East) and the Military Bowl agreed to a six-year deal that starts in 2014.

The game will match an American team against one from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

East Carolina last appeared in the Military Bowl in December of 2010 when they lost to Maryland of the ACC.

Also, the Military Bowl is moving from RFK Stadium in Washington to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md., this season.  That move is expected to be permanent.

Navy will join the American Athletic Conference in 2015.
