Pitt County softball all-stars take home state championships

WASHINGTON, N.C. -

The Pitt County All-Stars brought home multiple state titles from the Babe Ruth ENC State Tournament on Sunday. The 12U, 10U and 8U teams are now headed to the South East Regionals.

The girls were out on the fields at the Susie McConnell Complex until after 3 a.m. Sunday morning and then started play again at 10 a.m. All the games were backed up due to rain but they did finish on Sunday.

Pitt Co. 12U beat Laurinburg 8-4 for the title. The 10u's beat Wilson Extreme 13-7, and the 8U All-Stars knocked off Wayne County 13-7 to win the championship.

South East Regionals begin in Glen Allen, VA. on Thursday.
