Little girl battling cancer asks for pizza from her hospital window

Posted: Updated:

A little girl battling cancer at Children's Hospital Los Angeles only wanted one thing during her chemo treatments: pizza.  And people she doesn't even know, delivered.

Undergoing chemotherapy is hard for anyone, especially kids like Hazel Hammersley.  So she and her mom put up a sign in her window at the hospital.  It said, "Send pizza room 4112."

It worked.  The story went viral online and people delivered dozens of pizzas to little Hazel.

"She woke up from her nap to tons of pizza in the room and she thought it was great.  She ended up having three slices and had a party for all of her friends and there was music playing, she had a great time," said Hazel's mom Lauren.

Three months ago doctors diagnosed hazel with Neuroblastoma.  Soon after she finishes her chemo to shrink it, Hazel will have surgery to remove the cancer.
