Durham Co. father accused in son's death in 2010 back in court

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. -

A Durham County father accused of suffocating his 4-year-old son and attacking his two other children in 2010 is expected back in court Friday.

Joseph Mitchell is charged with murder and attempted murder in the September 2010 case.

Authorities said Mitchell suffocated 4-year-old Blake then tried to kill his 10 and 13 year olds in their home on Thistle Trace in Hillsborough near the Durham County border.
