RALEIGH, N.C. -

After almost drowning, a little girl is safe thanks to a mystery hero who gave her life-saving CPR.

It happened Thursday night at the pool at the Dutch Village Apartments in Raleigh.

Neighbors say the little girl was swimming, when another child noticed she sank to the bottom and wasn't coming back up.

A woman standing nearby jumped in and pulled the girl out of the water.

She says that's when a man ran over, called 911, and gave the girl life saving CPR.

After police and EMS crews arrived and said the girl was going to be ok, the man who saved her was no where to be found.

"I don't even know who he was! He just shot out like Superman. He called 911 first before he left and then I got out of the pool so he could giver her C0Rwhille I was on the phone with 911, but next thing you know when everybody came, he was gone!" explained Shakeria Ellis, the woman who pulled the little girl out of the water.

Ellis says if the man wouldn't have given the girl CPR, she might not have survived.

Police say the girl was taken to the hospital as a precaution but is ok.
