Four arrested with heroin, stolen goods

Posted: Updated:

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office has arrested four people on trafficking and stolen property charges.

Danny Ray Price, 51, of Morningside Drive in Kinston, Roy Allen Morris Jr., 37, of Sutton Loop Road in LaGrange, David Allen Melton, 33, of Grays Mill Road in Kinston and Heather Liana Vallia, 34, of Sutton Loop Road in LaGrange were all arrested and charged with felony trafficking heroin by possession and felony possession of stolen goods.  Price received an additional charge of misdemeanor fleeing to elude arrest.   All of the suspects were confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center under a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

Narcotics Detectives with assistance from the LCSO Community Crime Reduction Team and the Kinston Department of Public Safety pulled over a vehicle.  The driver, Price, failed to stop his vehicle requiring deputies to box him in using their patrol vehicles.  Price and the three other occupants in the vehicle were immediately taken into custody.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 83 bags of heroin, over $1,000.00 of stolen merchandise and several thousand dollars in cash.  The merchandise found in the vehicle was found to be stolen from various retail stores located in Pitt, Onslow and Lenoir County.  The stolen merchandise included a window unit air conditioner, air and power tools, and numerous Playstation 3 video games.

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division is providing assistance to law enforcement agencies in Pitt and Onslow County to obtain further charges for all of the suspects in regards to the larceny of items from the retail stores where they were stolen
