Free clothes just in time for school

Posted: Updated:
GRIMESLAND, N.C. -

A local church is trying to help those in need by giving away free clothes.

On Sunday, the Nativity of the Holy Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Grimesland held a free clothes giveaway.

Event Organizer, Sharie Tourlitis says church members and people in the community collect clothes all year long to prepare for the giveaways.

The church tries to give away clothes three or four times a year.

"It's just really a good thing for the community, especially in these times [with] gasoline being as expensive as it is, and with unemployment being as high at it is. This is our way of giving back to the community and helping people that are in need," said Tourlitis.
