Complaints lead to man selling cocaine

A Greenville man is behind bars after complaints tipped police he was selling cocaine.

In June 2013, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office began investigating Mitchell Earl Phillips, 45, of Greenville, after receiving complaints about him selling cocaine. As a result, a search warrant was conducted on Phillips residence, leading to three counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine and one count of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

Phillips was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center and placed under a $50,000 bond.
