One dead, one injured in Henry County

MARTINSVILLE, VA -

The Henry County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the death of Jimmy Bernard Tinsley, 36, from  Martinsville and the malicious wounding of Brandon Denzel Eggleston, 21, of Martinsville.  

Investigators say the homicide and malicious wounding stemmed from an incident that occurred at approximately 12:54 am Saturday in the parking lot of Econo Lodge (1755 Virginia Avenue Martinsville).            

An individual has come forward and stated he was responsible for the injuries inflicted to Tinsley.  This subject and others are cooperating in the investigation.  According to witnesses, there were multiple individuals discharging firearms.  Investigators are currently working to locate these individuals.  

The Sheriff's Office is thoroughly investigating the incident before any charges are issued. Anyone having information regarding these crimes is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff's Office at (276) 638-8751 or the Crimestoppers Program at 63-CRIME (632-7463).  The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $1000.00 for information related to crime.  The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
