RALEIGH, N.C. -

Family members and friends of a missing Apex man gathered at a Raleigh pub Monday afternoon, sharing information about him and vowing they would do what they could to find him.

Police say Weston Vandemerwe, 23, was last seen around 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the Oxford bar on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

The recent East Carolina University graduate left the Oxford early Saturday with his girlfriend, who said Vandemerwe had been drinking. Kaitlyn Holmes added that the two got into an argument outside the bar, which led to her leaving in a cab.

Holmes said the last she saw him, Vandemerwe was walking down the street.

"I just hope he's OK and comes home soon," Holmes said. "If anyone sees anything, please contact the police department -- please -- with anything."

Raleigh Police do not suspect foul play. But his mother, Becky Daly, of Apex, said his disappearance was completely unlike him and she is convinced something is wrong.

"This isn't like him, he would be home," Daly said. "Something's happened, I don't know what. We need to know."

Vandemerwe was scheduled to sign a lease for a new apartment Sunday, but never showed up. He also did not show up for his financial services job on Monday.

Family members say Vandemerwe's car is at his friend's house.

The family is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to him being found. Family members describe Vandemerwe as being 5 feet 8 tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red, short-sleeved polo shirt with blue shorts and Sperry shoes.
