Police in Fayetteville have arrested a civilian crash investigator on a number of drug offenses.
A statement from the police department said 33-year-old Nina Megan Joyce is facing a number of charges, including attempt to obtain control substance by misrepresentation and withholding information and trafficking opium or heroin.
Joyce submitted her resignation effective immediately.
Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock said Joyce went to different doctors and six different pharmacies to obtain medicine. He said an investigation started Aug. 1 after a suspicious pharmacist called police.
She is being held under a $65,000 bond. It couldn't be determined if she has an attorney.
