Farmville convenience store robbed at gunpoint

The Greene County Sheriff's Office is investigating a late night armed robbery at a convenience store.

Sheriff Lemmie Smith tells 9 On Your Side it happened at Lewis' Food Market on US 264 Alternate around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. That's near the Greene/Pitt County line.

Surveillance photos show one gunman holding up the store. Smiths says two employees were inside at the time.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
