Greenville man accused of statutory rape, faces life in prison

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

A man is behind bars and faces life in prison.
    
Gregory Easton appeared before a judge in Greenville on Wednesday. He's charged with one count of statutory rape.

Records show Easton was arrested on Tuesday in Guilford County. From there he was transported back to Pitt County to face charges. 

9 On Your Side did some digging and found the 59-year-old has a registered address in Greenville.

During his appearance, he asked for a court appointed lawyer.
     
Easton is  under a $500,000 bond.
