Joint undercover operation leads to 35 arrests

Posted: Updated:
GOLDSBORO, N.C. -

A joint undercover investigation by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad (GWCDS) and Mount Olive Police Department (MOPD) has led to 35 people being charged with a total of 116 drugs and weapon related offenses.

GWCDS says the countywide operation spanned from Fremont to Mount Olive and focused on areas within the County's communities responsible for having generated large volumes of citizens' complaints and concerns about drug activity taking place there.

Law enforcement personnel from the Fremont Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration's Raleigh Office and the Goldsboro Police Department's: Selective Enforcement Unit, Housing Authority, Warrant Squad and Patrol Division assisted the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and Mount Olive Police Department with the investigation and arrests. GWCDS would also like to thank the Wayne County Detention Center for their assistance following the arrests.
