NC judge to work on murder case backlog in Vance Co.

Posted: Updated:
HENDERSON, N.C. -

A judge says he plans to work on the backlog of murder cases in Vance County.

The Daily Dispatch of Henderson reported that Superior Court Judge Robert Hobgood said Wednesday he will work on getting the 25 cases scheduled for trial.

Hobgood said he will use court sessions from other counties if they are needed to get as many of the cases tried as quickly as possible.

He says he will begin status conferences on murder cases beginning in October. Hobgood says he hopes to set trial dates in as many cases as possible.
