ROANOKE -

5:15 update: Dale Lee Thomas has turned himself in to police. He's being held on charges of pot possession and having a sawed-off rifle. Thomas is currently being held in the Roanoke City Jail.

ORIGINAL POST:

On Monday, Fallon Park Elementary was put under a shelter in place alert, due to a warrant being served at a nearby home. Today, court documents show exactly what Roanoke City Police were so interested in.

Inside the Fallon Avenue home, they found approximately 70 firearms, body armor, and about 10,000 rounds of ammunition. Police came to the home in response to a man inside making threats to hurt other family members. 56-year old Dale Lee Thomas was taken into custody, and transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

Students teachers and staff at the nearby school were in placed under a shelter in place for 2 hours, but classes were not interrupted.
