Pedestrian struck while crossing Raleigh road

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh police said a pedestrian sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of S. Wilmington Street and Chapanoke Road Wednesday.

Police said the incident occurred just before 5:15 p.m. when the female pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross the road.

Authorities said the victim was transported to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.

The identity of the driver and victim were not released. No charges have been filed at this time.
