Man arrested for forging recycling ticket

On June 4, 2013, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of fraud and larceny that occurred at Kemp's Recycling on Highway 17 South in Vanceboro.

Investigators began an investigation and learned that the suspect attempted to cash in a stolen Kemp's weight ticket that had been forged.

An investigator conducted interviews and applied for a warrant charging John Tyrone Grimes, 41, of Edward, NC with Attempt to Obtain Property by False Pretense and Misdemeanor Larceny. Grimes was arrested by the Sheriff's Office on August 26th and held on a $3,000 secured bond.
