Manufacturer to expand operation in Lenoir County

RALEIGH, N.C. -

(AP) - A company that makes products used for remodeling and new construction is expanding its operations in Lenoir County and says it plans to create 252 new jobs.

Associated Materials Inc. announced its plans Thursday, adding that it plans to invest more than $5 million over the next five years in Kinston.

The company is the parent of several North American manufacturing and distribution operations, including Alside Window Company, 1 of Kinston's largest employers. Its products and services target both the remodeling and new construction markets in the continental United States and Canada, serving the needs of contractors, builders, remodelers and architects.

Associated Materials currently employs more than 540 people in North Carolina.
