Another arrest in connection to Greenville homicide

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Greenville police make another arrest in connection to the city's first homicide of the year.

Officers arrested Demetrius Smith last week on a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The arrest warrant says the 19-year-old robbed the victim, Anthony Johnson, the same day Johnson was killed. According to the warrant, Demetrius Smith stole money and drugs from Johnson and threatened the victim with a gun.

Smith is in the Pitt County Detention Center. His next court date is September 12th.

Johnson's was killed outside a home on Westridge Court on January 2nd. Officers arrested and charged 16-year-old Jahreel May several days later with his murder.
