Local bikers to ride to DC on 9/11 anniversary

Bikers from across the Tri-Cities will gather on September 10th at Fountain of Life Bible Church to head toward Washington D.C. for the "2 Million Bikers Ride to DC" on September 11th.

This will be the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the United States, and according to various news sources, a Muslim political advocacy group is planning what is being called the "Million Muslim March" in Washington on that same day.

The bike ride is in response to the march, and Pastor Vic Young from Fountain of Life Bible Church said it is important that we remember those who died in the 9/11 attacks, as well as our soldiers.

"We need for this nation to realize daily to remember what happened to cherish our freedoms to be able to go and come, and to realize that a certain amount of our freedom was robbed from us September the 11th that day," said Pastor Young.

If you would like to take part in the ride, Young said people are meeting at the church at 8 a.m. on September 10th.

From there, the group will spend the night in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and then ride into DC on the 11th.
