ECU Football field ranked #2 in nation

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

In a ranking released this week by footballscoop.com East Carolina’s football field design was recognized as one of the best in the nation.

The Pirates’ field ranked just behind LSU’s tiger eye design. The website described ECU’s field saying “The Pirates' pitch drew heaps of praise last Thursday during their national TV win over Florida Atlantic, and rightfully so. You won't find a bolder midfield logo than that pirate staring into your soul from inside the North Carolina silhouette - and when you're at East Carolina, you need to be bold.”

The only other North Carolina team mentioned was UNC with their new argyle endzone pattern. The Tar Heels were ranked #4 by the website. You can see the full ranking here.
