Kinston community gathers for 2nd Annual Veterans Fair

Posted: Updated:
KINSTON, N.C. -

Groups in Kinston were out in force to help men and women who've served our country.

Thursday, the 2nd Annual Veterans Fair took place at the Vernon Park Mall in Kinston.

The state's Division of Workforce Solutions sponsored the event, but it wasn't only about jobs.

It was to let veterans and those who care for them know who and what kinds of help are available in the community.

Veterans’ organizations, the Red Cross and businesses recruiting workers were all on hand.

"Any problems that a veteran has, whether it's a health related question whether they are interested in going back to school, it would be something they could come out here and a least one person would be able to answer that question for them," said Victor Kosinski, Veterans Fair Organizer.

Kosinski helped moved this year's fair from the National Guard Armory to the Vernon Park Mall. He says this made it more accessible and a bigger success.
