    Two officers have been fired and a manager has resigned after an independent review of two suicides at a youth detention center in East Tennessee.

ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) -

The Elizabethton Police Department arrested a woman Monday who admitted to leaving the scene of an accident in which a man died.

The accident happened last Thursday around 10:50 p.m. on State Route 91 and Elizabethton Highway.

Officers were dispatched to the scene to check on a collision involving a pedestrian, but when officers arrived they discovered the driver of the car the struck him had alread left the scene.

The pedestrian, Christopher Dale Hughes,  was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center by the Carter County Rescue Squad, but he later died.

Several hours after the accident, someone called dispatch with information regarding the crash. After an investigation, police were able to identify the driver who fled the scene as Chyanne Gobble.

Gobble admitted to being involved in the crash and leaving the scene. She was arrested Monday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Gobble is currently behind bars at the Carter County Jail. She is expected to appear in General Session Court on October 18.
