Eight arrested in Nags Head hotel bust

Posted: Updated:

Eight different suspects have been arrested after a bust at a Nags Head motel.

On Monday, September 16, 2013, the Dare County Narcotics Task Force, consisting of Dare Sheriff’s Deputies, the Nags Head Police Department, Kill Devil Hills Police Department, NC State Bureau of Investigation and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement served a Felony arrest warrant at a Nags Head motel.

This arrest warrant was drawn by Dare Sheriff’s Investigators, on the suspect in an assault that occurred on Roanoke Island September 12.  The suspect was also involved in an ongoing DCNTF narcotics investigation.  He is believed to be a Blood gang member as well.

Subsequent to that arrest, Investigators were also able to arrest an additional seven persons for various narcotics violations and outstanding arrest warrants.  These arrests stem from a narcotics sales operation being run from a motel room.

Sheriff J.D. “Doug” Doughtie made the following statement in a release:

“This is an example of the type of working relationship we have developed with the local Police Departments and State law enforcement agencies in our county.  Teamwork here has resulted in the arrest of a dangerous suspect, and the disruption of a major drug dealing operation.”
