Priest stops wedding to tell videographer to back off

Posted: Updated:

During a wedding a priest asked a videographer to leave, saying he'd stop the ceremony, CNN reported. The awkward moment was captured on video and posted online.

Rob and Noelle Ruehle were in the middle of their vows when the priest who was to officiate the ceremony said to the photographer he had to move.

"This is a solemn assembly. This is not a photography session," the priest said. "Please move or I will stop."

The photographer moved and the ceremony continued. The bride and groom were more shocked than upset, they told CNN. They said it made for a funny moment.

"We had a lot of reactions afterwards and it kind of made for laughter but it kind of was the damper on the day also," Noelle Ruehle said.

They told CNN the priest apologized and tried to justify his reaction. The bride's brother posted the video on YouTube and it turned the wedding into an Internet sensation - it was viewed almost half a million times.
