WASHINGTON, N.C. -

Jocelien Whitehead may be just 14-years-old, but she's already signed a record deal. In March the Greenville native was signed by 5050 Music Group.

This week the South Central High School student is trying to put her music and eastern North Carolina on the map, by shooting her first music video right here in the East.

9 On Your Side was given an exclusive behind the scenes look at a part of the music video shoot at Southside High School in Chocowinity.

On Saturday, the Southside High School Band and cheerleaders joined Jocelien and some of her friends for the shoot. The band director says the band spent the last two weeks learning song “Lovestruck” for the video. Jocelien’s label, We/Machines, Lowe Bar Studios, along with Lavon Drake of the Washington Waterfront District Alliance advertised to the community to attract the public to the shoot.

Jocelien shooting a video here in the East is a dream come true.

"I always wanted to do a video in my hometown because this is where I'm from. It just feels amazing; it just doesn't feel real to me. And I'm just so happy to be back in my hometown," said Jocelien.

People from Washington say they're excited to welcome Jocelien, and more production crews to the area.

"We have some things to offer. It's just that the rest of the world is not always aware that we are here, so this has given us an opportunity to promote Washington," said Drake
