GATE CITY, VA (WJHL) -

The teens accused of planning their classmate's murder will remain in custody after they appeared in a southwest Virginia courtroom Monday morning.

Gate City High School was placed on lockdown Friday after investigators discovered the teens, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, planned on Facebook to lure another student to a set of stairs and shoot him.

Monday morning, a judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation for the boy.

Both students are charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

They are currently being held at the Highlands Juvenile Detention Center.
