Cruise line eyes Crystal Coast as port of call

Posted: Updated:
The gem of the Crystal Coast could soon be a cruise ship destination.

Luxury line Silversea has added Morehead City to its schedule for the first time as part of a new itinerary that takes in the southeastern USA.

According to USA Today, it would include a 13-night sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale that stops in Morehead City as well as Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Norfolk, Virginia.

The ship also stops in the Bahamas.

The Silversea website has yet to list any shore excursions for Morehead City.

The cruise on the 386-passenger Silver Shadow would start in April 2015.
