Meth bust in a car and storage unit in Beaufort Co.

WASHINGTON, N.C. -

Deputies and SBI agents found a Ford Taurus loaded down with a meth lab in Beaufort County.

The car was in a driveway, so the deputies and agents went into the house and found methamphetamine in the bedroom of Randall Burmeister and Susan Maloney.

After further investigation, deputies learned Burmeister and Maloney rented a mini storage unit about a mile away from their house.

After searching it, they found a second meth lab.

Deputies say it’s not uncommon for people to turn a mini storage unit into a meth lab.

Deputies charged Randall Burmeister and Susan Maloney with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
