Garrard returns to Jets

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Former ECU great David Garrard is making his return to the NFL. Garrard was signed in March by the Jets but complications with his knees forced him to retire. Now Garrard says he's feeling much better.

The Jets announced today that Garrard has worked his way back to the team and has been given a two-week roster exemption. The addition of Garrard makes for yet another veteran backup for rookie Geno Smith and Garrard hopes his role might be even bigger than that.

The former Jaguar standout says his knee feels great and that when he was watching the games so far this season he felt the desire to compete again. "I didn't want to have any regrets one day," said Garrard.

We'll keep you updated on his status in the coming weeks.
