Witness: two men open garage doors after breaking into cars

NEW BERN, N.C. - New Bern Police are looking for two men who took items from at least three cars.

Police say they responded to a call about some car break-ins on Earl Court in the King Row Community.

Witnesses tell 9 On Your Side say two men, driving a white Ford F-150 truck, stopped in the neighborhood just after 3:00 a.m. Adrian Preddin says he noticed his garage door open after hearing something outside. Preddin says by the time he came out of his house to check on his car, the two men were gone. However, Preddin says they came back to try and break-in to his neighbor's cars.
 
"I was just surprised that they were bold to come back 15 minutes later,  park the vehicle, and go to the other neighbors houses. I didn't really thing anything of it, but once I saw them start going to houses, I went to approach and they left. We had already called the law," said Preddin.

King Community Watch Leader, Susan Lytton, says the neighborhood is normally quiet; however, last night's incidents just reinforce the need to double check doors and cars are locked.
