Police: Fayetteville officer shoots teen with gun

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Authorities say a Fayetteville police officer has fatally shot a 16-year-old boy who drew a gun from his waist when police responded to a domestic disturbance call.

Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock said officer Christopher Hunt was trying to take a woman into custody Sunday night when the teenager pulled a gun.

The chief said Hunt fired at least three rounds, WRAL-TV reported (http://bit.ly/1cijTrG). The teen died at a hospital.

Medlock did not identify the teenager.

The State Bureau of Investigation has been called to look into the shooting.
