VALRICO, FL (WFLA) -

A man walking around with a hammer is being charged with arson in connection with a fatal Valrico fire.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the Oakhill Village mobile home park to a report of a mentally unstable person just after midnight Monday morning. Neighbors told deputies Frank Chapman, Jr., 42, said he set a fire and wanted to go to a mental health treatment center.

Deputies spotted flames coming from a mobile home and immediately called in firefighters.

"There were flames shooting through the roof of this mobile home and they had to quickly deploy their hose lines and attack the fire. They actually entered the residence and started putting the fire out," explained Hillsborough Fire Spokesman Ronnie Rivera.

Firefighters found a man's body inside the home. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's investigators are now waiting for a judge to sign off on a warrant to enter the home. Col. Donna Lusczynski says the Medical Examiner will help determine who the man is and how he died.

Chapman lives in Oakhill Village with a relative. Lusczynski says Chapman is charged with Arson First Degree Dwelling and being held on a 50-thousand dollar bond.
