Deputies bust up marijuana grow operation in Grifton

Posted: Updated:
GRIFTON, N.C. - Lenoir County deputies found a marijuana growing operation in Grifton.

Deputy Josh Stocks and David Curington went to Crystal Park Lane on an anonymous tip.

Once there, they found a home with blacked out windows and several surveillance cameras outside.

Nobody was home, but deputies were able to contact the owner of the house. He gave them permission to search the house.

Once inside they found 40 potted marijuana plants, a lighting system rigged to provide light for the plants, several smoking pipes and two guns.

Clarence Sidney Davis III, the owner of the house, is charged with manufacturing marijuana. He’s out of jail on a $12,000 secured bond.

“This is yet another example of the community identifying a problem within their neighborhood and my deputies taking immediate action to stop it,” said Sheriff Chris Hill.
