Troopers ID pedestrian killed in weekend accident in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, N.C. -

The State Highway Patrol has identified the man who was struck and killed in Smithfield on Sunday.

Troopers identified the pedestrian killed as Jonathan Barbour, 16, of Smithfield.

Barbour was walking east on Black Creek Road between Long Branch Road and N.C. 210 around 8:54 p.m. when he was struck by a 1995 Ford Mustang driven by Amber Stewart, 19, of Smithfield.

Steward will not be charged in the incident.
