Onslow County Deputies investigating shooting

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -

Deputies with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting. 

The sheriff's office tells 9 On Your Side the shooting happened around 10 o'clock Saturday night.
    
Investigators are declining to release where the shooting happened.
    
A 22-year-old man was shot in the back and airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He's in stable condition.
    
Police do not believe the shooting was random.
