Raleigh's Red Hat Amphitheater set an attendance record for the 2013 season with more than 100,000 ticket holders attending shows.
The amphitheater released a statement saying a total of 109,098 ticket holders attended 29 shows in the amphitheater between May 2 and Oct. 5.
The highlights of the 2013 season included the inaugural IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass weekend, Life in Color, a free Silversun Pickups concert, best new artist FUN., Killers, Sigur Ros, The National and Imagine Dragons.
"We set out to put on a diverse series of shows and offer something for everyone," said Taylor Traversari of Red Hat Amphitheater. "Thanks to our City team and our friends at Live Nation, we hit both those milestones and created a rockin' experience for our community."
The record attendance in 2013 is a 50 percent increase over the 2012 attendance of 70,084. In 2011, the attendance was 90,284 and 75,431 in 2010.
The amphitheater holds a maximum of just under 6,000 people.
